COVID-19 is an airborne virus transmitted from one infected person to the next; it can also be transmitted by coming into contact with an infected area or surface. However, this article is NOT about COVID-19 in fact, it is about How to Help Employees Commute during COVID-19? As we already mentioned, it could spread by coming into contact with infected surfaces or being in close proximity to an infected person. Commute poses the maximum threat of contracting the virus. Usually, during a commute, people have to sit close to each other in a confined space, increasing the chances of the virus being transmitted from one person to the next.

Recommended guidelines to avoid getting sick:

  • Maintain social distancing
  • Sit and stay at least 3 to 6 feet apart
  • Wear masks in public
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Avoid unnecessary contact

Although these guidelines are clear and, with time, we are accustomed to them. Still, it is not possible to maintain distancing in a small space such as a van, bus, or a company car. Here at SF Pinnacle Limousine, we have some solutions for you.

  1. Ensure that everyone is vaccinated: Vaccine, although somewhat controversial, is an excellent defense against COVID-19. By ensuring that everyone required to travel is vaccinated can help reduce the risk of getting sick by a huge percentage.
  2. Make sure the surfaces are clean: In-between passengers and trips, it is essential to ensure all the surfaces within the vehicle are clean and disinfected. For this deadly virus to spread, it is not necessary that you come in direct contact with a sick person. A sick person touching a surface, sitting on a seat, or just by traveling in a shared transport can leave the virus behind.
  3. Wear masks: Personal protection is the best defense against this virus. The most common person in a vehicle is the driver, who is there in between passengers and shifts. Ensuring the chauffer is vaccinated, disinfected, and wearing a mask can help reduce the spread of the virus. Similarly, if the passengers also wear masks, they can reduce the risk of getting sick.
  4. Hire a larger vehicle: Instead of getting a town car for three or two persons or getting a smaller van for five persons; prefer getting a larger vehicle. At Pinnacle, we have luxury vans, minibusses, and full-size luxurious buses. By getting a larger vehicle, you can ensure people are sitting away from each other, thus, maintaining social distancing.
  5. Prefer a commute company with a good reputation and documentation: There are many companies that offer luxury commute options, but not all are the same. If you are conscious about the health and wellbeing of your employees, you should hire a company that not only has a good reputation but the documentation to support that as well. The documentation should contain information about the vaccination status of all the staff involved and the practices involving cleaning and disinfecting vehicles between rides.
  6. Surfaces and Upholstery: Although some transport companies will claim everything as suggested above, they might know their actions are pointless. For instance, it is very hard (almost impossible) to properly disinfect cloth/fabric-based surfaces. Cars with fabric seat covers cannot be thoroughly cleaned without washing the upholstery as opposed to limousines and luxury vehicles with leather or leather-like upholstery. Leather or plastic is non-porous and is easy to disinfect with disinfectant solutions. If you must use a service that prefers or is stuck with fabric like upholstery, make sure to check that they have a high-temperature steam cleaning setup with them.

Helping reduce the stress of commuting on your employees during the COVID-19 and ensuring their safety will increase their productivity and help build trust in the company. Choose SF Pinnacle Limousine for your daily commute, events, and gatherings. Whether it is driving your employees and executives to and from work daily, or going on a trip, a getaway, or a get-together, we have the perfect transport vehicle and solution for you and your employees.
